چکیده

Visceral hemangiosarcoma were analyzed at the Department of Veterinary Pathology Faculty Medicine, University Zagreb, over a 5-year period. From total 52 tumor masses in 31 dogs, histological growth patterns (cavernous, capillary or solid) and amount supporting stroma evaluated. Additionally, sections stained with toluidine blue for purpose mast cell detection their number was determined parenchyma, edges. The average age affected animals 10 years, males predominated, tumors occurred most frequently cross breeds, German Shepherd dogs Labrador Retrievers. highest visceral found spleen (27/52). common pattern solely cavernous mixture solid different proportions. Mast cells 44/52 (84.6%) hemangiosarcomas. A smaller higher not significantly associated pattern, but there positive correlation between MCC - parenchyma (rs = 0.28, P<0.05), + edges 0.74, P<0.05) MCC- stroma+edges 0.30, all examined tumors. In splenic tumors, only significant P 0.68 P<0.05). These results suggest count more developed stromal components canine hemangiosarcomas, certainly indicate need further research on role factors they release development progression

Canine Mast Cell Tumors

Initial work up of a mast cell tumor (MCT)will involve diagnosis by FNA and staging. The initial staging performed will depend on the index of suspicion that the mass is a grade II or III MCT and clinician’s preference. Cytology is generally diagnostic for MCT. However, an incisional biopsy to determine grade is recommended in some cases. The histological grade may be important to determine in ...

mast cell count in oral reactive lesions: a histochemical study

background: the aim of this study was to quantify the number of mast cells in focal reactive hyperplastic lesions of the oral cavity and to compare these two number of mast cells in normal gingival tissues and to correlate their presence with the state of connective tissue changes in reactive lesions and probably suggest a role for mast cells in these lesions. materials and methods: patient rec...

Efficacy of optimized in vitro predegeneration period on the cell count and purity of canine Schwann cell cultures

Objective(s): Predegeneration is a standard technique to obtain mitotically activated and enriched cultures of Schwann cells (SCs). This study, for the first time, evaluated the impact of various duration of predegeneration on cell yield and enrichment of SCs from dog peripheral nerve. Materials and Methods: Dog sural nerves were subjected to 5, 10, 15 day-long in vitro predegeneration. The tot...

Oncolytic Reovirus in Canine Mast Cell Tumor

The usage of reovirus has reached phase II and III clinical trials in human cancers. However, this is the first study to report the oncolytic effects of reovirus in veterinary oncology, focusing on canine mast cell tumor (MCT), the most common cutaneous tumor in dogs. As human and canine cancers share many similarities, we hypothesized that the oncolytic effects of reovirus can be exploited in ...

A comparative study on the mast cells count in oral squamous cell carcinoma and normal oral mucosa

Introduction: Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is one of the 10 most common malignant tumors and SCC accounts 94% of all oral malignancies. Mast cells are regarded as complex and multifunctional cells, playing a significant role in immunopathology . The aim of this study is to evaluate the number of mast cells in tissue sections of oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) in comparison with norma...
